Barclays Bank - 1.89 billion pounds profit

It seems that Barclays bank are doing well even in this climate. They are reporting that first half net profit figres increased 10 percent on stronger earnings from their investment banking division, but losses from bad loans rose steeply and consumers in the U.S. and Britain had more trouble repaying credit card debt.
